MUMBAI: T-Series and Amazon hosted ‘Amazon Echo Party’ to celebrate the success of Armaan Malik’s single, Ghar Se Nikalte Hi. The occasion was graced by T-Series owner Bhushan Kumar, lyricist Kunaal Verma apart from brother duo Armaan and Amaal Malik. The event was held at Hard Rock Café in Mumbai.

Speaking at the occasion, Armaan, who also sang the song there, said, “The original song featuring Jugal Hansraj and Mayuri Kango was released in 1996 and I was born in 1995. I had never heard this song and just heard it six months back when Bhushanji told me that it is a good song. Shivam from T-Series played it for me on YouTube and I heard it only once. I didn’t see this song, which is sung by Uditjit much because I didn’t want to get stuck to that old song. We wanted to go with a new story that is evident in the second Antara of the song. So, that was a new thing we got concept wise. Amaal and I had said in the previous interviews that it’s not a recreation but re-birth of the song. It has come in a new form and the audience has accepted it and given so much love.”

T-Series managing director, Bhushan Kumar also spoke to the media at success bash, saying, “This is an iconic song, which was in our catalogue of Plus Music which we acquired long back. And actually, I was thinking about making a single of this song and recreate it since a long time. This was the apt song and I just thought of none but only Armaan for this. He was initially reluctant but I told him that just follow what I’m saying and it will be a great song. I think I was not wrong.”

“Initially, yes I was a bit reluctant but finally, the video got made and for this we went to Greece to shoot it. The video is shot very beautifully by Charit Desai. So, it has come out in a beautiful way and I’m glad that Bhushanji’s vision has come to be true.”

Armaan further expressed his happiness on the success of Ghar Se Nikalte Hi, “It feels amazing as is always a pleasure to connect with my fans and they always want to see me onscreen. Hence, finally a single, with me being onscreen and enacting my own song that has come out very beautifully and 36 million is just a number. I want to call it 36 million hearts rather than views because I think we have touched those many hearts with the song. And a huge thank you to T- Series for making this happen and to my composer Amaal Mallik, lyrics writer Kunaal Verma, Rajesh Roshan sir, Javed Akhtar sir, Udit Narayan because all of us have collaboratively done this together.”

Bhushan Kumar also said, “It feels always good when you think about something especially when you are recreating a song. According to me, it is a very big challenge to recreate the song and get that accepted in the market as there are so many recreations, which release and go unnoticed. It is a difficult task, but hats-off to my music director Amaal Mallik, who has recreated this song. The music of the original was composed by Rajesh Roshanji and Javed Saab has written it. We have changed lyrics, keeping sensibility of today’s youth in mind. As a music company owner, I feel that when you recreate a song, there is a more responsibility on you than creating a new song. That’s the reason; I’m very happy and excited about the song that is appreciated by everyone.”

Armaan also agreed to Bhushan and he feels for the younger generation, Ghar Se Nikalte Hi is his new version for them which have managed to connect with many.

Amazon Echo is a speaker that you can control with your voice and it connects to Alexa, a cloud-based voice service to play music, play calls, and get in touch with your people that are present in Alexa’s contacts, checking weather and much more. The day is not far when Alexa may host a show. 

When the host asked Armaan about his chemistry with Alexa, he joked, “Basically, while shooting, Alexa was next to me. She was sitting there pretty and very beautiful and it was Greece. We were falling in love almost, but I told her not know, let the shooting of the video get over then we will fall in love. But it’s very good. I like how the device seamlessly went into the whole video. During the shoot, I wanted some inspiration so I would ask to play a romantic video and Alexa obliges. So, it is a beautiful way to integrate a brand and I think both T-Series and Amazon teams have done a good job.”

Lastly, shedding light on upcoming projects, Bhushan Kumar signed off, saying, “Right now we are concentrating on the film, ABCD 3 which will go on the floors this year. Besides, there are many films including the one with Shahid Kapoor. We have many singles, of which one is coming in May. There is another single with Akhil Sachdev, Ayushhman Khurrana and more.”
