MUMBAI: Among the top 14 contestants, who are gearing for their performance in the upcoming ‘Grand Premiere' episode of Indian Idol 10, Soumya Chakravorty has got the title of ‘Classical Rockstar’.
Soumya was bestowed with this title by none other than Anu Malik, who is one of the judges of the show. Hailing from Kolkata, Soumya had already grabbed Anu’s attention by his exceptional singing. But, his rendition of a classical song was so beautiful that the veteran Indian composer couldn’t stop praising him. He also went on to call Soumya, the first ever, ‘Classical Rockstar’ in the history of Indian Idol.
On contacting Soumya Chakravorty, he said, “It’s a dream come true to be selected in the top 14 contenders. To get an opportunity to perform on such a fantastic platform is a rare honour. Also, one needs to be conscious of the fact that we are all competing for the coveted title of ‘Indian Idol’. Also, as our judges have mentioned, multiple times, our hard work and dedication towards music will help us in achieving success. I have worked very hard and dedicated myself to singing from an early age. Also, it’s because of my mother that I have reached this spot.”
“When an established and respected artist like Anuji praised me, it not only took my breath away but also left me, completely, speechless. Thus, my constant effort would be to deliver my best, going forward, also,” Soumya added.
Indian Idol 10 offers one of the best national platforms to the budding singers of the country. Judged by Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar, and Anu Malik, Indian Idol 10 has much more in store.
