MUMBAI: Fresh from his first tour of Australia and the intricate, futuristic sounds of his self-released belter, Crazy Things At Night, the amazing Cazztek arrives on STMPD RCRDS with a low-slung slice of modern hip-house that’s immaculately produced. A collaboration with Man 3 Faces, it’s another incredibly potent piece of work.
The track kicks off with a taut kick-snare combo and plump analog bass, creating a mischievous feel. Classically styled dance-rap vocals raise the energy as a simple melodic hook creeps in. The drop yields pleasingly full bass drop tones and growling synth sounds, female rap vocals entering the fray for some sassy contrast. Electro squeals build the intensity over rapid-fire snare fills before we enter a break beat-driven section, which strips things back to the raw essentials. A pummeling snare build brings more intensity before we drop into those phat bass sounds with added sax samples for good measure.
Cazztek’s profile continues to grow, with a set this month at Martin Garrix’s closing party at Ushuaïa Ibiza following on from a packed summer of touring North America and Australia. Another single is coming from him later this year on Confession, while he’ll soon be back in the studio working more of his magic.
Cazztek feat. Man 3 Faces Down Like That is released on STMPD RCRDS on 7 September.
