Radio One Introduces Fataafat Ganesha

Mumbai: 94.3 FM, Radio One, for the Fataafat Generation brings you the action live and unplugged with the first on air Fataafat Ganesha experience where listeners get the whole Visarjan live from the RJs of Radio One.

The station announced the beginning of the Fataafat Ganesha promotion that runs from Ganesh Chaturthi right up till Visarjan Day offering listeners the opportunity to win a host of festive goodies, participate in contests and learn interesting facts about Ganapati and the festival in the city.

Contestants from various Ganapati mandals will be invited to vie for honours during Elake Jung on the station's very popular Good Morning Mumbai show, which in this period will be based on Ganapati related trivia. Listeners, who call in to share their stories of Ganapati, stand a chance to win lots of goodies to help decorate their idols, on the station's Mid Day and College Radio shows. RJ Prachi will be visiting homes of listeners as well, getting them to share their story of the celebrations, adding a first-hand-feel to the festive spirit.

Also up for grabs are season's passes to the Siddhivinayak Temple worth Rs. 5000 each that enable visitors to skip darshan queues, as well as Radio One thalis that include a diya, kaju katli, haldi kumkum and a haar.

In an effort to promote an eco friendly festival, the station's programming will include tips on making eco-friendly idols, as well as places where one can buy these. On Visarjan Day, the station will play Radio One's Ganapati Top 10, the best songs to rock to this Ganapati, while RJs will report in live from the trail of Ganapati's on their way to Visarjan. Traffic updates from Radio One's tie up with Australian firm ITN, will ensure that the most reliable news on traffic movements is conveyed to listeners as they make their way across the city during this period.
