MUMBAI: Rachita Arora, a mellifluous singer and music composer who is best known for “Mukkabaaz” is working with Sanjay Mishra in the movie “Kaamyaab” which was released on 6th of March.
From composing music for theatre plays to getting into a music industry Anurag shared about how her musical journey started, “Makarand Deshpande heard and liked my voice when I was at Prithvi theatre and introduced me to Anurag Kashyap, “Bohot Dukha Mann” was my first song from the movie “Mukkabaaz” and that’s where it all started.
Commenting on her experience working along with Anurag Kashyap she exclaimed, “He knows how to deal with the artist, the process is very spontaneous. As an artist, whatever is in our mind we feel free to discuss it with him and the kind of input and ideas he shares is really amazing. It doesn’t feel like you’re working with a director but instead feels like you’re collaborating”.
Sharing her shoot memories with Anurag, “When recording the song “Chhipkali” me along with my sister was sitting besides Anurag, there was a poem that was recited and I liked it so I asked him if I can compose it to a song and he willingly agreed. I made 4-5 composition and he loved all of it”.
Currently, the “Judgementall Hai Kya” singer was working along with Sanjay Mishra in the movie “Kaamyaab”. She said that Shah Rukh Khan was also a part of the production and it was a tribute to the entire artist. The whole music background of the song was done by Rachita.
It was awarded for Best Music at the ImagineIndia Madrid. The twist with the song artist was that all the three artist Bappi Lahiri (“Tim Tim Tim”), Hariharan ("Paaon Bhaari") and Ash King ("Sikandar") was from different genres like contemporary, traditional.
When asked about her bucket list of collaboration the “Haathapai” singer exclaimed, “I’m a spontaneous person, I can collaborate with a very big artist and the same way with who so ever that’s willing to work with me. I don’t have a list”.
“People should listen to more original songs instead of remix so that the artist would also work more on it. The audience demands of remix are increasing and that’s where the artist faces chaos. More originals should be in demands” she further said
At present, Rachita Arora is also working on another project with Anurag Kashyap.
