MUMBAI: Sadasivan KM Nambisan aka Sadu a vocalist, lyricist, composer and a founder member of the famous erstwhile pop act called Aryans gave us unforgettable hits such as “CCCC” among others.
The man whose signature for decades has been love songs, has released a scathing piece of poetry that was born out of the artist’s mixed feelings on the current state of the planet. Titled Us Chaon Ko Tarsoge Tum, Sadu’s poetic rendition has been released digitally on the occasion of World Environment Day June 5th, 2020.
Watch here:
The piece was born out of both hope and hopelessness along with a certain amount of frustration towards the plant disregard humans at large have shown the mother earth. “Corona virus is just the beginning of the catastrophe… Well, I’m not here to talk about politics, films, economy, religion or to entertain you in any way either because these topics would matter only if this planet exists tomorrow. There is a time for love and then there is a time for tough love. Friends, we are deliberately digging graves for the next generation. Is the temperature soaring, have the clouds disappeared , are you neck down in floods, you don't have water to drink, the rivers are drying up, there is no forest left, it’s you to be blamed... we literally don’t deserve this planet and we are its biggest threat… On this Environment Day, I pray for the well being of this world, I pray and hope for us humans to understand the reality of the situation and its seriousness at the earliest,” says Sadu.
