MUMBAI : In a recent update from the official manga adaptation Twitter account of Hajime Kamoshida's Seishun Buta Yaro (Rascal Does Not Dream) light novel series, it was revealed that Jun Miyazaki is bringing the Seishun Buta Yaro wa Siscon no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Siscon Idol) novel to life in manga form on Kadokawa's G's Channel website. The inaugural chapter of this manga hit screens on December 25.

The story introduces a captivating twist involving protagonist Sakuta, eager to reconnect with Mai, only to be met by a stranger bearing an uncanny resemblance. The culprit? Adolescence Syndrome, orchestrating a body swap between Mai and Nodoka Toyohama, a rising idol and Mai's half-sister. The narrative unfolds as each sister navigates the other's life, with Nodoka harboring secrets beyond the act.

This manga adaptation is derived from the fourth novel in the Seishun Buta Yar series, adding depth to the already popular franchise. Following suit, adaptations of the fifth and sixth novels made their debut on G's Channel on April 30.

Previously, the light novel series spawned three manga adaptations, each covering the initial three volumes. Notable manga artists like Tsugumi Nanamiya, Tsukumo Asakusa, and Tsukako Akina contributed to these adaptations. Yen Press has been responsible for bringing the manga versions to English readers.

For those unfamiliar, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, the anime derived from the light novel, premiered in Japan in October 2018 and ran for 13 episodes. The anime concluded its narrative up to the fifth novel volume. Additionally, the subsequent anime film, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, explored the events from the sixth and seventh light novel volumes.

The franchise continues to thrive with the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid sequel anime project, adapting the eighth and ninth novels. Hajime Kamoshida initiated the series in April 2014 with the release of the first novel, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.
