Radio Mirchi's 1st Birthday in Nagpur celebrated in style
MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi, 98.3 FM the number one private Radio FM station (source – IMRB Car Track – Jan – '08), has completed one year in Nagpur. It was exactly one year ago on 18th Oct, 2007, when Nagpur became "HOT" with Radio Mirchi becoming operational in the city.
Radio Mirchi is known to do things differently, and as a part of its 1st birthday celebrations, Radio Mirchi invited all it's listeners to its Birthday day party – but the twist was that the party location was undisclosed. The listeners had to participate in a treasure hunt to find out the final party destination – clues were given at every point and solving the final clue ensured that the listeners were entitled to the party. The response was overwhelming.
Mr. Raag Agrawal, Station Head & AVP, Radio Mirchi Nagpur said, "The idea was to entertain our listeners in a manner which will take them through some adventure and in the process they will enjoy also" When asked what more the listeners of Radio Mirchi can expect since it's already one year, he added, "From today, the whole soundscape of Radio Mirchi will change – the listeners will experience Radio Mirchi which is more crisp and fresh as we have overhauled the most of it– and I am sure that the listeners will like it". He went on to add, "We aspire to be the channel of Nagpur where people can relate to – it's most important as FM is a city centric media.
Radio Mirchi has become the preferred choice of the listeners in the last one year, and this is because of the content and the quality of songs that it plays along with various Bollywood celebrities which come to the studio at regular intervals, the prizes which the listeners win in all the shows and also the corporate social responsibilities which the programming team undertakes to make it an irresistible package.
Some of the celebrities who had visited Radio mirchi Studio in the last one year were Aamir Khan, Imran Khan, Jenilia, Jimmy Shirgill, Nisha Rawal, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Boman Irani, Rajkumar Hirani, Swanand Kirkare & Mohit Chauhan.
The prizes for the listeners range from multiplex movie tickets, food vouchers in the best of hotels & restaurants, gold & silver coins and passes for all the happening events in the city.
But while entertainment has been the focus, Radio Mirchi has not lost the social responsibilities – some of its corporate social responsibility activities include donation drive for the flood affected people in Bihar and for the children of a city orphanage on the Children's Day. Also, it had made audio newsreel for the visually impaired"
Mr. Raag added, "We would like to thank our listeners for being with us and Radio Mirchi promises to become much more exciting in the coming season – we are committed to our positioning – "Mirchi Sunnewaale Always Khush".
