Music Today launches Hussain & Khan Grammy Nominee album

Mumbai: Music Today in association with Moment Records released the Grammy Nominee album of two great classical virtuosos of India, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Aashish Khan- `Golden Strings of the Sarode`.The album is a collection of Hindustani classical music performed on sarod and tabla. The three tracks in this album are the afternoon raga "Bhimpalashri" (or Bhimpalasi), "Lalita Gouri"- an uncommon raga that is only played at sunset (also known as Sandhi Prakash Raga) and "Bhairavi", a morning raga.

Aashish Khan, the eldest son of Sarod legend Ustad Ali Akbar Khan is an international performer, prolific composer and much sought-after teacher.

Zakir Hussain, son of tabla legend Ustad Alla Rakha, is a renowned Tabla maestro. His musical journey with Aashish Khan began in the late 60`s, and it is with Aashish Khan that Zakir first left India to tour abroad.
