MUMBAI: Monali Thakur will soon be seen judging the reality TV show, 'Sa Re Ga Ma L'il Champs 5'. Joining Shaan and veteran singer- Alka Yagnik on the panel, she shared her excitement over her new role.

"I am really very excited to be a part of this show. I would not term my role as a "judge" as Alka mam, who is very senior to us, will be judging the kids. Shaan and I are more like mentors to the kids,” said Thakur.

According to her it will be difficult to be tough with them since they belong to the age group of 8-13 and they should be playing instead of participating in a reality show. "I still remember the day, I got eliminated. I cried like a baby, and over the shows it is going to get more difficult. The elimination rounds are going to be extremely difficult for all of us,” said the 'Saawar Lu' singer.

Confidence is one thing that she likes about kids these days as she always feared of competition. "The moment I found out that I am going to be judged I would fumble, forget lyrics and everything would go haywire. But these kids come up with such confidence and very often they make us sound dumb.they are far more confident than I was. Also they are so cute when you go and meet them. They all come and hug you together and I fear that if I fall they will too. They are so cute that they can get away with anything, but when it comes to grooming them, I am a little strict,” she laughed.
