MUMBAI: Noel Gallagher has revealed that he will unable to produce the upcoming album for UK indie rock band- The Libertines. Carl Barat, lead singer and guitarist for the band, recently stated his desire to have the former Oasis man produce The Libertines’ next album, adding it would bring "clarity to vision". Unfortunately, Gallagher has turned down the offer due to touring commitments.
"We've exchanged a few emails but unfortunately they want to do it in Thailand. With the best will in the world, I'm on tour and I can't do it. I would genuinely love to be involved but they're going to do it in Thailand and I can't be in Thailand," the High Flying Birds’ frontman said to NME.
Although he is unable to help produce the album, Gallagher did offer the recently reunited band a bit of advice. The 47 year old musician stated that the band would be alright as long as they did not "over-think it". He presumed that the forthcoming album would be "good" considering the band will be working on material from before its members could part ways.
Barat recently said that the band would possibly start recording the new album in April this year, and that the album would be "surprisingly upbeat". The album will be the band’s first full length record since its 2004 self-titled LP. While there is no release date confirmed, it will be released through Virgin EMI.
