MUMBAI: Mika Singh, who is known just as much for his controversies as for his singing, has once again made headlines for his notorious behaviour. During a concert in south west Delhi, the 'Dhinka Chika' singer allegedly slapped a doctor during a live performance. As a result the victim, Dr Shrikant, an ophthalmologist posted at Ambedkar Hospital, is said to have suffered from internal injuries inside his left ear.
According to reports, as soon as the incident took place, Shrikant's colleagues created a commotion. The Delhi police have booked the singer and have promised action against him. “While performing, Mika had called some of the audience on stage for an activity. During the activity, something done by the doctor irked Mika who then slapped him and handed him to the bouncers,” said a police official to a few reporters.
“In his complaint, Dr. Shrikant has said he was trying to communicate with a woman, who was participating in a gimmick that required segregation of male and female members of the audience. It was then that Mika summoned the doctor,” stated a senior police officer.
The concert was organised by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS) as a part of their three-day conference being held at the Delhi Pusa Institute Mela Ground in Inderpuri. A few sites have carried the video of the assault.
According to the police officer Singh and the bouncers have been booked under Sections 341/34 (wrongful restraint and common intention) in addition to Section 323 (causing hurt).
