MUMBAI: Through the new landmark judgement, the US has given a new meaning to freedom. On Friday, 26 June, the US Supreme Court delivered a ruling in the favour of same-sex marriage in all 50 states of the country. Although it might take the rest of the world to follow suit, thousands celebrated the ruling, with a great deal of support coming from the music industry.

US President, Barack Obama, considered one of the most powerful individuals, praised the ruling and stated that the ruling would strengthen all communities by offering dignity and equal status.
