Rishi Rich: I knew Jay Sean and Juggy D would reach great heights

MUMBAI: The pioneer of Indian R&B fusion music, Rishi Rich, who is also popular for his Bhangra tracks and Hindi remixes, is back with the ‘Rishi Rich Project’. It was under this very project that he launched British Asian talents- Jay Sean and Juggy D. However, in 2007, the project came to an end after Rich parted ways with his record company 2point9 Records. Now the trio- Jay Sean, Juggy D and Rishi Rich – are back with ‘FREAK’ under the ‘Rishi Rich Project’.

Talking about the ‘Rishi Rich Project’ comeback the ‘Dance With You (Nachna Tere Naal)’ producer said, “The reunion has been great. We have had a great time being back together and creating the track. We had a lot of fun during the process of making ‘FREAK’.”

Apparently, music fans seem to be enjoying listening to the track as much as the musicians enjoyed creating it. Rich claims that the response to ‘FREAK’ has been phenomenal. “The response has been out of this world from all over the world,” he stated. Rich also said that the new song is a token of appreciation from Rich and his gang for the fans that have always been there for them.

Fans certainly found it hard to see the ‘Rishi Rich Project’ come to an end a few years ago, and it was just as difficult for Rich and the rest. And although they missed working together; they constantly stayed in touch and spent time together, and Rich feels that the gap of time has benefited the ‘Rishi Rich Project’ as it has grown bigger over the time.

Both, Jay Sean and Juggy D are big names today, something that makes Rich really proud. “Yes, seeing their success is a great feeling. When I discovered them I knew they would reach great heights,” stated the ‘One Night’ track producer.

Apart from ‘FREAK', Rich also revealed that he has other projects he is working on. Sharing a little information about the same he said, “Yes, I have signed some new artists from America and Canada, and I am looking forward to developing them and launching them.”

The musician also expressed his fondness for Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, and revealed he would like to collaborate with the ‘Blue Eyes’ hitmaker because he thinks Singh is a great artist.
