MUMBAI: India’s first ever digital singing reality show #fame’s ‘Closeup Web Singer’, which launched a couple of months ago with Pritam as the main mentor, and Raghu Dixit, Benny Dayal, Aditi Singh Sharma and Monali Thakur as theme mentors, has announced its first winner. Digvijay Singh has been named winner of the contest’s first round. Interested participants were asked to send entries via email, website and on ground activities, which were then screened by industry music experts. Out of the top 15 semi-finalists, mentors picked their top six, which included Shruti Prakash, Purva Mantri, Varsha Tripathi, Mithilesh Pradhan, Tajinder Pradha and Digvijay Singh.

The competition is not over for Singh as yet. ‘Closeup Web Singer’ consists of five rounds and each round will have a winner. At the end of all the rounds, the five winners will be given different themes to compete against each other.

This, however, does put the 21-year-old from Ghaziabad, a step closer to the final battle. From rigorous rehearsals to striving hard to gain mastery and outshine others week after week, Singh, with his hard work and dedication has won the hearts of many. He will now move on to compete with winners of the other four rounds.

As per the information given by the ‘Closeup Web Singer’ team, Round One has reached out to over 12 million music lovers across India, and has received an overwhelming response with over 4 million views in on the internet.
