Adele, Jessie J lead 'Brit Awards 2012' nominations

MUMBAI: Songstress Adele and Jessie J have topped the nomination list of 2012 Brit Awards with three nods each. The two British pop-stars will compete for the coveted titles of British Female Solo Artist and British Single. Adele has also been chosen for British Album of the Year and will compete against Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, PJ Harvey and Florence. While, Jessie will battle it out with Ed, Anna Calvi, The Vaccines and Critics' Choice winner Emeli Sande for British Breakthrough Act category.

RIM announces 7.1 OS feat. FM radio

MUMBAI: BlackBerry parent company RIM (Research in Motion) has announced its new operating system 7.1 OS featuring FM radio for Curve model 9360 and 9380. The new operating system was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The existing Curve 9360 and 9380 users can also update their operating system to 7.1OS. The new software activates FM chip, and includes new app allowing users to tune in to local FM stations.

MUMBAI: Rana Barua has put in his papers at Red FM 93.5 Network after serving the company for two years. He was currently the COO at Red FM 93.5 Network. When contacted, Barua remained unreachable for comment and industry sources have confirmed the news. Prior to joining Red FM, Barua was with Radio City for five years as EVP and national head – programming.
