Guitarmonk's degree course gets University Grants Commission approval, first course next month

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission has given its approval to a degree course in guitar and music drawn up by Guitarmonk.

The course will be an academic programme known as Bachelor Degree in Guitar [BPA]. The programme is the first of its kind career-oriented programme with specialisation in guitar and keyboard respectively.

The course will start from September this year for Delhi-NCR at Guitarmonk’s Manthan School in Noida.

This is a three-year programme along with real industry exposure to all candidates in the last year. The programme also covers topics such as music legalities, management, and music marketing along with technical development of a musician.

All participants will also get an opportunity to get a mention on Guitarmonk’s Launch Me Platform to help them get recognition.

The programme is for freshers with a musical aptitude and inclination, starting with 60 seats in Delhi and selection via an entrance test.

The registration under programme will be on first come first served basis via a music psychometric test in order to assess the aptitude, inclination of candidate towards the music.

The course for corporate professionals will be in the form of separate weekend and weekdays batches.

The eligibility for the programme is a minimum 12th standard according to UGC guidelines.
