MUMBAI: Warner Music UK (WMUK) recently announced that Peter Breeden will be the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective immediately. Breeden was earlier the company's Senior Vice President and Finance Director. He takes over the position from Simon Robson who is leaving the UK in December to take on the role of President, Warner Music Asia Pacific. As CFO, Breeden will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting and reporting for Warner Music UK and Ireland as well as helping to inform the company's overall business strategy.

Warner Music UK Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Max Lousada said in a statement, "Peter has been the backbone of our finance team for many years and his thoughtful approach to our financial planning has been instrumental in helping the UK to consistently deliver growth. His knowledge of our business is second to none and I have no doubt that, in his new role, he will be a valuable addition to our leadership team. I would like to thank Simon for his unstinting hard work and vision over the last few years as we have reshaped the company. He has helped to put us in a great position for the future, not least by building and developing extremely strong teams in each of the functions he oversees and leaving us in such good hands. I am delighted he is staying in the Warner Music family as he embarks on the next phase of his career."

Peter Breeden stated in the release that he is proud to lead an experienced and dedicated finance team, whose diligent work underpins the continued success of our company. "I look forward to continuing to support Max, who I have worked with since the early days of Atlantic UK, and the UK management team to help achieve our ambitions for the company."

Breeden has been with Warner Music since 2001, initially joining the Atlantic team before progressing to SVP & Finance Director in 2012.  His experience in the industry goes back twenty-seven years and includes previously held posts at EMI and Universal.

Following on from Breeden's appointment, Mike Watson, currently Financial Controller is promoted to VP, Financial Planning WMUK; Rupert Lougee's role is extended to Vice President, Shared Services & Financial Reporting; and Sarah Rishi has joined the company as Financial Controller from Viacom Inc. (MTV Europe).
