Universal Music Canada names Jeffrey Remedios as president and CEO

MUMBAI: Universal Music Canada has named Jeffrey Remedios as president and chief executive officer. He will be joining office from 21 September, 2015.

With this, he will be stepping into the shoes of Randy Lennox, who moved to Bell Media as president.

“I want to thank Randy for transforming our Canadian company into the market leader both commercially and creatively. He will be missed at UMG, and I’m confident he will achieve great things in his new role. I congratulate Jeffrey on his appointment. We are fortunate to have found an executive with his creative instincts and proven entrepreneurial track record to lead Universal Music Canada,” said Universal Music Group chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge.

“I want to thank Lucian for this incredible opportunity. Randy will be a tough act to follow, having created one of the best companies in the music industry. I’m looking forward to working with Universal Music Canada’s extraordinary roster of artists and executives to continue their stellar record of artistic and commercial excellence,” Remedios added.

Remedios is the co-founder of Arts & Crafts Productions, which was launched in 2003. He also founded the live music and arts festival Field Trip in Toronto.

Currently, he also handles the post of chairman of the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR), and is also a part of the boards of Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (CARAS), and the City of Toronto Music Advisory Counsel (TMAC).
