Verve Music promotes Mike Rittberg

MUMBAI: Universal Music’s Jazz and American contemporary label Verve Music Group has promoted Mike Rittberg to the post of general manager. He will be based in Santa Monica and will report Verve chairman David Foster.

Before his promotion, Rittberg worked with Verve as the senior vice president of branding and marketing. In April 2012, he joined Universal Music Group as Verve's VP of artist development and promotion.

He will oversee Verve's operations along with artist development and release schedule. Rittberg will been seen investing his time with Interscope Geffen A&M, which is now responsible for Verve's sales, marketing and film and TV licensing.

Commenting on his promotion, Rittberg said, "I am honoured to carry on the tradition of great music coming from Verve as we redevelop its brand during the coming year.”

Foster giving his view on the new responsibility handed-over to Rittberg, said, “I congratulate Mike on his well-deserved promotion. Mike has been a wonderful partner, and together I look forward to bringing new talent to Verve and building on our iconic label's vast accomplishments."

Prior to joining Universal Music Group, Rittberg was senior vice president of promotion at Warner Music Group's Warner Bros./Reprise.

In 2015, the label will release Diana Krall's new album ‘Wallflower’, and will soon release new music this year from Andrea Bocelli, Brenna Whitaker, The Falls, The Fairground Saints and Charles Perry. The company is also developing a project titled ‘We Love Disney’.
