T- Series acquires music rights of 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' and 'Wazir'

MUMBAI: After joining hands with Vishesh films for three films, T- Series has now acquired the music rights of Vinod Chopra’s next production- ‘Wazir’. In addition to 'Wazir’, the Indian music label also holds the music rights to Rajshri Productions’ 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', which stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor.

If sources are to be believed, the music of 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' was acquired by the label for whopping sum of Rs 17 crores. This film is one of the more ambitious projects the production house has.

According to various sources, music composer Himesh Reshammiya has roped in more than 20 singers like Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Palak Muchhal and Mohammed Irfan, among others, for 10 tracks that he has composed for 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'. The first trailer from the film will be unveiled on 1 October.

Meanwhile, the Amitabh Bachchan starrer- ‘Wazir’, which has been acquired for an undisclosed sum, has music composers like Shantanu Moitra and Ankit Tiwari, who will be composing music for the film. Tiwari has crooned one song in the film, while ‘Galliyan’ lyricist, Manoj Munstahir, is rumoured to have written songs for the project.The first teaser of ‘Wazir’ was released in 2014 and the second came out in June 2015.

Previously, T- Series had also acquired the music rights for the Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer- ‘PK’ which was produced by Vinod Chopra Films.
