T-Series gets HC help to bar content use on Amrita TV

Mumbai: T-Series has secured an interim order from the Delhi High Court to Amrita TV, restraining it from using literary and/or musical works of Super Cassettes (SCIL) content.

The notice, dated 12 March 2008, says that Amrita TV cannot use the any of the company's 20,000 Hindi non film songs and around 50000 songs in regional languages, without obtaining license from SCIL.According to T-Series, Amrita TV has been using copyright content of T-Series 'without taking the license from Super Cassettes Industries Ltd (SCIL), despite repeated requests from T-Series to do so.'

The company says T-Series has been requesting Amrita TV to take license like all other satellite TV channels for using SCIL contents in its programmes.

However, despite a legal notice sent earlier, Amrita TV continued to infringe the copyright of T-Series and broadcast their content without license, a release says.
