Bengaluru gets dose of jazz with Indigo and Blues fest

MUMBAI: The fourth edition of Indigo and Blues, an event offering an enthralling mix of music, food and entertainment, turned out to be a treat for music lovers.

The festival brought together the best of Jazz and Blues music in Bengaluru on Sunday at Hotel Royal Orchid, read a statement.

Music lovers from the city were seen having a gala time at the musical extravaganza as they witnessed some musicians from across the globe perform here.

The one-day affair began with a performance by Bengaluru-based band By2Blues which mesmerised the crowd with their unique blend of powerful vocals and rock-solid rhythm, woven together into a rich tapestry based on the individual styles, inspirations and personalities of each of the members.

They were followed by Blues Power with Goan icon Herman Abreo on the vocals who got the crowd swaying to their powerful renditions.

MoonArra, another performing act, then took the stage as they performed Indian classical, jazz and world fusion.

There was also a performance by Jazz Junction, featuring some of the most accomplished jazz musicians including Russian singer Olga Andreeva, Latin Grammy winning Italian drummer Matteo, Gerard Machado, Jason Quadro and Colin D`Cruz.

The evening culminated with a performance by the headlining act -- Thailand-born artist Passakorn Morasilpin and his quintet, that enthralled the audience with their electrifying compositions.

The Indigo and Blues Festival was introduced seven years ago by Indigo 91.9, a Bengaluru-based radio.
