MUMBAI: To those who love a bit of adventure while getting dirty and listening to live music, The Mud Rush provides the ideal setting. With adventure being the central theme of the event, The Mud Rush will extend its element of fun to music with performances from four acts across genres.

Singer/Songwriter (and drummer for various bands) Sidd Coutto will be one of the artists performing at the event. A multi-instrumentalist, Coutto's identity as a musician kept evolving with every association – be it Alien Chutney, Tough On Tobacco or Vice Versa - and the solo effort further justifies the tag of ‘versatile musician’. Joining Coutto on the day would be another city based act ‘Bombay Bassment’. The hip-hop/funk band recently became the first Indian band of the genre to perform at Glastonbury Festival, and surely one can expect the four-piece act to bring the house down with some new music from recently released second album.

The Colour Compound, the third act at the one-day event, will make its first appearance after January. The band gained some serious followers and critical acclaim with the release of second studio effort, and debut album, titled ‘From Where We Stand’ in 2014. The Mud Rush, through the line-up, has ensured there’s music for everyone. And to quench the ‘electronica’ thirst, the organisers have also added Funk Assassin in the mix. A regular contributor to several nightlife venues in Mumbai, Funk Assassin - DJ Amul’s bass avatar - is not new to live performances involving hundreds of attendees. With a host of sounds dominated by drum n bass, groovy funk slabs and eclectic mixes, DJ Amul’s music fits perfectly with the theme of The Mud Rush.

With a range of activities like 7 km long mud run, a bazaar and pro-run, The Mud Rush will open its doors this weekend (24 September). To be held at Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari in Goregaon’s Film City, the entries for the event start from 1500 and vary depending on the activities and preferences.
