All India Radio to celebrate the romance of monsoons with musical concert

NEW DELHI: The monsoons set a romantic trend of their own. Capitalising on this, All India Radio’s (AIR) National Channel is celebrating the season with a musical concert ‘Main Hawa Hoon’ tomorrow, 7 August 2015.

The concert will be held at the Amaltas Auditorium of India Habitat Centre in the capital from 7 pm onwards to eulogise the intrinsic and rhythmic beauty of the season.

The artistes on the occasion will be the Hussain brothers - Ustad Ahmed and Mohammed Hussain - who will enthrall the audience with a rendition of songs and ghazals.

Music has great significance in Indian culture and history and it is believed that the ragas and renditions were strong enough to pull monsoon clouds and bring rain. To celebrate this amazing phenomenon, the Hussain Brothers will perform and let the music mingle with rains.

Starting their careers as child artists in All India Radio, Jaipur, in 1959, the Hussain brothers who sing together are a unique phenomenon in the world of music and the foremost exponents of the ghazal format. Despite being inheritors of a rich classical culture, the duo has successfully carved their own individual niche
