Panchtatva- musical extension of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, says Durga Jasraj

MUMBAI: Two years ago, the musical extravaganza Panchtatva captivated the audience gathered at the Royal Opera House Muscat. Now, promoters of the musical- Art and Artistes, has gathered all its strength to set-up a multiple city tour in India.

The latest musical venture, conceived and produced by Art and Artistes, will be a five city tour while depicting five elements of nature through the show. 'Panchtatva' is a combination of two Sanskrit words- 'Panch' meaning five and 'Tatva' meaning element. The five elements are Aakash (Space), Vaayu (Wind), Agni (Fire), Jal (Water), and Prithvi (Earth).

'Panchtatva' will feature the likes of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Taufiq Qureshi, Selva Ganesh, Subhankar Banerjee, Sridhar Parthasarthy, Rattan Mohan Sharma and Ankita Joshi amongst others.

The property intends to create an experience through a combination of animation and visual effects along with specially designed Soundscapes, and the use of relevant Shlokas. Art and Artistes founder Durga Jasraj said, "We spent crores of Rupees on the visual effects for the entire show. We believe in the project, thus, we invested hugely in the initiative." There was about a 40-member team working for 18 months on the visual effects. Jasraj added, "The production team involved for the project has worked on various big-budget films. I strongly believe that 'Panchtatva' is one of the most expensive Indian classical music tours ever."

'Panchtatva' is presented by the Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Aditya Birla Group. It is also endorsed by the UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan.

Interestingly, Jasraj who is a supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', hopes to support the initiative through the property. Jasraj stated, "It is a musical extension of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. I am trying to cleanse the soul with music."

This edition of Panchtatva includes a five city tour - Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi. It is a combination of indoor and open-air tour and is expected to attract more than 11,000 people.
