Red FM's Red Bandstand partners with Tata Docomo for 30 gigs

MUMBAI: Red Bandstand in its latest edition brought The Sanket and Rajan Project, a two-member live electronica act to Mumbai. The outfit consists of Rajan Batra- singer/ songwriter and Sanket Sane- music director, who sing covers and original tracks in Hindi.

Launched in 2014, Red Bandstand is present across major cities in the country. The brand has already done shows in Delhi, Kolkatta, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Speaking on taking the property to other cities, RED FM COO Nisha Narayanan stated, “We wish to expand it to Tier II cities as well.”

Previously brands like Dominos and Officer’s Choice were associated with the musical property. However Narayanan confirmed, “Tata Docomo has partnered with us for as many as 30 gigs spread across various locations in India.”

The radio station gives budding music bands, including college bands and individual artists, a chance to perform live across the country as a platform to showcase their talent through this initiative.

Talking on the group finalises and picks artists for the show, Narayanan said, “We work with artist agencies like Art Collide and Artist Aloud.com, which help us identify talent that we feel suits the format of the initiative. We also believe in nurturing this talent and taking it to the next level by providing maximum support to artists. This further helps us in bring the best from the artist.”

On plans for making this a televised show for artists, she added “In the longer run, we wish to venture into the television space; however it is too premature to discuss the strategy for the same.”

Red Bandstand is promoted on air through promo tags, RJ mentions etc. across all shows. Apart from this, the property has been promoted immensely on various Red FM digital platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
