MUMBAI: “Music in itself is healing. It is an explosive expression of humanity…No matter what culture we are from, everyone loves music.” Music is borderless. It’s not restricted by geographies, language or even a pandemic. Keeping up with the spirit of love and hope that keeps us alive, without borders, MTV and MTV Beats brings a grand musical spectacle, this World Music Day on 21st of June, fittingly christened Music Beyond Borders.

Music Beyond Borders is a one-of-its-kind musical extravaganza celebrating diverse music cultures from across the country. Featuring a prominent repertoire of  more than 25 artists such as  Madhuri Dixit Nene, Neeti Mohan, Salim-Sulaiman, Nakash Aziz, Amit Mishra, Benny Dayal, Shalmali Kholgade, Antara Mitra, Akasa, Zayden, Asees Kaur,  Naezy the Baa, Tulsi Kumar, Darshan Raval, Dhvani Bhanushali, Arjun Kanungo, Shashaa Tirupati, Jankee & Nakul Mehta, EPR, Shloka, renowned International rapper L-Fresh The Lion and popular bands Parikraama and L’Haul, the hour long concert will celebrate the indelible spirit of music with soulful melodies. Staying true to the ethos of music that transcends boundaries, these distinguished artists will sing in different languages. Along with that, they will also encourage their fans and viewers to donate for Viacom18’s efforts to help NGO Goonj help those who are most affected by the pandemic.

Expressing her excitement on this initiative, Neeti Mohan said, “It’s truly said that when words fail, music speaks. Up against this crisis, I am sure we all have turned to music for a breather.  Music Beyond Borders is a unique initiative that intends to celebrate the all-inclusive and holistic power of music beyond languages and boundaries. This is our humble attempt to articulate that we are all in this together.”

Popular music composer duo Salim-Sulaiman also commented, “Music is an emotion so pure that it transcends boundaries and cultures.
