MUMBAI: WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to share Spotify tracks directly on their Status updates. Currently available in the Android beta (version 2.25.8.3) and in development for iOS, the update integrates seamlessly with the Spotify app. Once released, users will see a new “Status” option in Spotify’s share menu, making it easy to post a song preview-complete with track title, artist, album cover, and a direct shortcut to the song on Spotify-without the hassle of copying and pasting links.

This feature is designed to simplify the way users recommend music, similar to Instagram Stories’ music sharing capabilities, but with the added benefit of end-to-end encryption to ensure privacy. Although Meta has not provided an official launch timeline, industry reports suggest that the update could debut in the coming weeks following further refinements in beta.
