Gaana revamps its Android mobile application with new features

MUMBAI: Gaana.com, one of India’s leading online music broadcasting services, recently announced a major revamp of its Android mobile application, Gaana 5.0 with new additional features. The Android revamp has added a number of new features viz., a new, slick, dark theme, built to make the music stand out more. Gaana is the first entertainment app in India to adopt a dark theme.

Another exciting new feature in Gaana 5.0 is 'Playlists of the Hour’, where Gaana will highlight professionally programmed playlists that change every few hours. For example, on a Sunday morning, the feature will play some relaxed lazy music, and on a Friday night, it would play livelier music to start the weekend. 'Playlists of the Hour’ shows up at the top of Gaana, starting from the third time a user opens Gaana.

Gaana Product Head Saurabh Goel, said, "Gaana is about music, and so we changed the interface to make the music as easy to find, and as prominent as possible."

The music service is also launching a special referral program, in association with Paytm, where each user can earn talk time of up to Rs. 100, by inviting friends to Gaana. In addition, in partnership with Paytm, Gaana’s mobile referral program allows users to invite friends to Gaana, and earn Rs. 20 free talk-time for each friend who joins via Facebook. Users can invite friends directly via Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, SMS, and email, and earn upto Rs. 100 talk-time per user.

Gaana 5.0 is available for Android users currently, and will soon be available for iOS and Windows Phone users too.
