Warner/Chappell Music & Muse add 'Drones' to extended partnership

MUMBAI: Warner/Chappell Music and English rock band Muse and its primary songwriter and front-man Matthew Bellamy have extended their partnership yet again.

As per the new agreement, the partnership will cover all their group albums including ‘Absolution', ‘Black Holes and Revelations’, ‘The Resistance’, ‘The 2nd Law’ and their latest record ‘Drones.’

The deal also includes their critically acclaimed debut ‘Showbiz’ and follow-up 'Origin of Symmetry.'

Drones topped album charts in UK, the US, Australia and most major markets, in June 2015.

Warner/Chappell Music UK MD Richard Manners said, “Muse is one of the greatest rock acts in the history of the genre. Matthew is a brilliant songwriter and as a touring band they consistently push the boundaries of their amazing live show. We are very proud to have worked with them for so long and thrilled to be able to extend and broaden our relationship.”

Warner/Chappell Music and Warner Bros. Records chairman and CEO Cameron Strang added, “I am delighted that Warner/Chappell will remain home to Muse’s outstanding body of work. We are very proud to have this brilliant band in both the WCM and WBR families, and this agreement strengthens our enduring partnership. We are looking forward to more amazing things from the group in the years ahead, as we continue to work together to develop fresh global opportunities for their music on all fronts.”

The three-member band had created the official song for London 2012 Olympics and had picked accolades like a Grammy, two BRIT Awards, NME and MTV awards.

The band will been playing at Lollapalooza Berlin on 13 September, 2015.
