Sri Adhikari Brothers to launch North-East oriented music channel 'Se7en'

MUMBAI: Indian media conglomerate Sri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) Group has announced four new channels that will be launched by March 2017. One of the four channels - Se7en (read as Seven) - will focus on the North-eastern states and the local music from the region.

"We plan to launch the channel in a couple of months. The content will cater to the audience in the seven states of the North East - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura," said Sri Adhikari Brothers Group CEO Manav Dhanda,. The music and youth entertainment channel 'Se7en' will focus on local content created throughout the years and the programming would be in English.

Dhanda was loath to provide more details about the channel, but the emphasis on regional content does act as a motivational factor for the ecosystem. The restricted coverage of North-eastern content had been addressed several times before, and SAB's latest development also includes two out of other three channels sticking more to regional
spaces.
