Empire, television's biggest musical drama to premiere in India with Season 2 only on FX and FX HD

MUMBAI: FX, the only destination in India that provides its viewers with some of the highest rated television shows, boasting of the some of the most edgiest content of all time. Joining the bandwagon of the brilliant line up is the biggest American musical drama on television in the past decade, Empire. The show is all set to premiere with Season 2 in India, on 4th October 2015 only on FX and FX HD. Not only that with FX Torrents, the show will be showcased right after its international telecast.

A hip-hop based drama, Empire’s action starts when street criminal-turned-hip-hop superstar-turned-smooth, cravat-swathed record company mogul Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) announces that he intends to bequeath his CEO position to one of his three sons: business-brained, bipolar Andre; unassuming, gay musical genius Jamal; or bad-boy rap starlet Hakeem. He must now choose which son inherits. On the very same day, though, Lucious’s ex-wife Cookie swaggers out of jail after 17 years and immediately demands her share of the business, which Lucious started with the drug money she went down for earning. He says no, sparking an epic love/hate struggle for control of the company and the children’s loyalty.

Season Two picks up three months after the shocking arrest and incarceration of Lucious Lyon. Still in federal lockup, Lucious is trying to run Empire from inside, while Cookie attempts to finalise the hostile takeover of Empire.

The show not only boasts of an extremely intriguing plot but also of a soundtrack that is so crazy and so catchy that it found its way to the top of the Billboard Charts. Season 1 of Empire was one of the very few TV shows, along with shows like Glee and Smash, the music of which has topped the Billboard Charts. Some of the songs from the incredible soundtrack are "You're so Beautiful" featuring Jussie Smollett and Yazz, 'Keep Your Money' by Jamal and 'Drip Drop' featuring Yazz and Serayah McNeill among others.
