Music and dance of different genres lends unique colour to Holi celebration at AIR

NEW DELHI: Kathak artistes Asavari Pawar and Madhumita Ray and popular qawwali artiste Majeed Qawal were among those who lent their colour in a special music show organised by the National Channel of All India Radio to mark the festival of colours, Holi.

‘Mohe Rang De’ was replete with light music, kathak dances and the qawwali of Rampur, evoking a feeling of festivity.

Madhumita Ray, a graded artist, along with other performers rendered some Holi special numbers like Rag Bahar, Rag Basant, Thumari, and Dadra while Asavari Pawar performed ‘Yashoda Ke Lal’ and an Apsara dance.

The evening concluded when guests joined the artistes and danced to the beat of Holi songs and played Holi with flowers.

Prasar Bharati Member (Personnel) Suresh Chand Panda presided and senior officers including AIR ADG Amitabh Shukla, Doordrshan ADG Deepa Chandra, AIR DDG Rajiv Shukla and Daljit Sachdeva, and Prasar Bharati DDG P Dass also joined to celebrate the spirit of Holi.
