PM to address nation twice a month on AIR, urges people to send him suggestions via social media

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he will talk to the nation at least two Sundays every month via radio, since that was the only medium that reached everyone including the farmers.

In his first radio address titled 'Mann Ki baat' on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, he also called upon people to regularly send him their views through the social media as he had received many constructive suggestions in the past few weeks.

He said All India Radio helped him get connected with maximum number of people and with those who have no access to TV. “I am really happy to be talking to you on the radio. I can reach all of you through radio, especially our villages. Today is the start. In future too I will keep talking to you on the Radio. It will be on a Sunday at 11:00 am”, he said.

The address in Hindi was widely taken live from AIR by most private FM channels and also by TV news channels and streamed live on several websites.

“This nation belongs to everyone. It is important for people to be a part of the development journey,” he said. He further added, “I want you to keep sharing these things with me. Together let us serve India and take our nation to newer heights.”
