Over two lac singers in line to become Radio City Super Singer

MUMBAI: Radio City launched the seventh season of the ‘Radio City Super Singer’ across 15 cities in India on 19 August, 2015. The activity promised to take the level several notches higher and it truly did. The auditions that drew to a close on 2 September, 2015 saw an outpour of talent as more than two lac singers signed up to be crowned as their city’s super singer.

The ‘Radio City Super Singer’ is presented to you by TVS Scooty Zest in association with Olx! Over the years, the ‘Radio City Super Singer’ has gone on to become the biggest talent hunt on Radio. With winners set to take home cash prize up to rupees one lac plus a chance to find the big stage, it definitely is one of the coolest singing showdowns.

With the phenomenal turnout of people auditioning both in metros and in small cities ‘Radio City Super Singer’ has truly caught the fancy of singers in big and small cities alike. Radio City has always believed in staying ahead of the game and with the digital modes of auditioning being adopted, the effort got new wings. Tech savvy listeners thronged the specially designed microsite exclusively for the auditions. To add to the fun, Radio City made arrangements for listeners to even register on Whatsapp. More than 10,000 digitally crazy listeners made use of the online mode to register for the massive talent hunt. The energy showcased by all the aspiring singers was electrifying.

Listeners across varying age groups tried to go one up over each other as they filled the air with melody and music. From colleges to malls, wherever the auditions were held there was no slip up in the enthusiasm. From a teenager with latest styles up his sleeve to the simple ageing listener, the excitement was the same as they all were vying to be crowned as ‘Radio City Super Singer’ The eagerness can be understood from the fact that the registration numbers have simply doubled from 2014 to 2015. Last year the audition numbers stood at 1.1 Lacs and this year it has simply smashed that figure. A humungous 2.10 Lac listeners have registered to battle it out to become the next singing superstar.

As the auditions draw to a close, all the shortlisted candidates across the cities will undergo some high profile practice. They will be trained by the best in the music industry. Their training, guidance and mentoring will enable these candidates to stand a cut above the rest. Over the years, ‘Radio City Super Singer’ has been a great launch pad for budding singers across India. It has always encouraged talent and made sure that it sees the light of day.
