Club FM expands footprint in UAE, launches 24 hour Malayalam station in Dubai

MUMBAI: Mathrubhumi venture Club FM has launched its fifth radio station and its first overseas, in Dubai, UAE. The radio station, which is focused on the Malayalee diaspora, is aired on the frequency of 99.6 on the FM band in Dubai.

Says the radio station's creative head Priyaraj Govindraj, "We have a huge audience in Dubai. A huge crowd in Dubai speaks Malayalam and with over four Malayalam stations already running in Dubai, the competition is quite tough. Still, the listeners are loyal and they understand the importance of radio in their lives."

"We are one vibrant name that will surely gather mass listenership abroad," adds Priyaraj.

Famous Malayalee actor Dulquer Salmaan has been appointed the brand ambassador Club FM, Dubai that launched on 13 July 2016. The launch function was attended by Dulquer Salmaan as Chief Guest, along with P V Chandran (Managing Editor), M V Sreeyams Kumar (Director- Electronic & Media), P PSaseendran (News Head), P S Shree Kumar (General Manager) and K R Pramod (Chief Manager-Public Relations) along with other company officials.

The FM station has specifically changed its signature tune for the Dubai station and has new shows lined up particularly for Malayalees based in Dubai.

"We are going to come up with shows based on nostalgia for people of Kerala settled in Dubai. `We are also planning a show inspired by true incidents where people will come on air and share their experiences," explains Priyaraj.

Most of the RJs for the new station are Dubai based who have earlier worked with Club FM.
