MUMBAI: Jagran Prakashan Ltd's (JPL) President Apurva Purohit has been declared as one of the '30 most powerful women in businesses’ by Business Today magazine. The prestigious award was presented by Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani at a power packed event held in Mumbai

Apurva Purohit played a pivotal role in merging Radio City with the Jagran group, one of the leading media conglomerates in India. Under her leadership, Radio City not only scaled up from a four station company to 20 stations last year, but also became one of the largest and the most profitable FM stations in the country. Radio City has won several awards over the years, and for the fifth year in a row the brand has been ranked among the Top-25 brands to work for in India by the ‘Great Place to Work’ survey.

Apurva has over 26 years of experience in the media sector. She has been one of the most successful CEOs’ in the country, having delivered the 3 KPIs of an effective leader – building outstanding shareholder value, crafting a sustainable and profitable business, and creating a great place to work for employees at Radio City. As part of her mandate as the president Jagran Group, she spearheads the group’s portfolio across several verticals including print, radio, digital and outdoor and is currently involved in scaling up the various businesses of the group.

She is also the author of the national best - selling book ‘Lady, You’re not a Man’ – the Adventures of a Woman at Work. Through the book Apurva talks to men and women in the work force offering practical advice on how to be successful and happy both at home and at work, through emotional intelligence and maturity in managing relationships – with self and with others.
