Radio Choklate spices up programming with three new shows

MUMBAI: Radio Choklate added spice to its existing programming line-up early this month with three new shows - ‘Diary of a Housewife’, ‘Bhaya’ and ‘Khela Tike Alage’.

The shows touch areas earlier untapped by the radio station. ‘Diary of a Housewife’ is a show with an unknown voice, a voice that represents Indian housewives, and narrates issues that she faces in her marital life. These issues are not limited to her husband; they are also about her extended family like her mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and others. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at noon and is repeated Wednesdays to Sundays at midnight.

“We did not want to give this show's voice a name because we wanted every housewife to connect with her. The show is being accepted beautifully,” says Radio Choklate programming head Sangram Mishra.

‘Diary of a Housewife’ has been conceptualised by Radio Choklate  executive director Tanaya Patnaik, scripted and produced by Guru Satpathy.

The second show happens to be a horror  show -‘Bhaya’. It has been scripted and produced by Manas Padhiary and sound design is by Saumitri and Srikant. The stories on ‘Bhaya’ are fiction and Jitu Sawat narrates them.

‘Bhaya’ is a weekend property. It airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 pm with a repeat on Mondays and Tuesdays at midnight.

The third show ‘Khela Tike Alaga’ is an evening band game show that airs at 5 pm, Monday to Saturday. The show is hosted by well-known online cricket commentator RJ Nishanth. “He plays quizes and games with the listeners. These games can be related to Oriya culture, entertainment and more,” says Mishra.
