Big FM goes live with test signals of 14 new frequencies in a day

MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast Network Limited's Big FM finally launched the test signals of 14 new frequencies acquired under Phase II. What's interesting is that the station launched all these frequencies in one day, 1 April 2017.

• With the launch of additional 14 stations, 5 new stations will be added in Maharashtra and Goa (Pune, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Aurangabad and Ahmednagar), making it a total of 8 stations.

• 92.7 Big FM will enjoy 100 per cent presence in Central India (UP, Bihar and Jharkhand) with added coverage in 5 new stations (Lucknow, Patna, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur) making it a total of 8 stations

• With the addition of 4 frequencies in Northeast India (Agartala, Itanagar, Shillong and Aizwal), existing stations in Jammu, Srinagar and Guwahati the radio network will have the largest presence in the region making it a total of 5 stations.

• With a total of 59 stations, the radio network will cover 5 ‘A’ and ‘A+’ category towns which include Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur, Lucknow and Patna, along with 2 ‘B’ category towns i.e Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

With the acquisition of these new frequencies, the radio network is now moved with a total of 59 stations.

Commenting on the occasion, Reliance Broadcast Network Limited chief executive officer Tarun Katial said, “The launch of 14 new stations will further reinforce our position as leaders in the radio broadcast industry. This is a major step in expanding our presence in all our focus markets to ensure that we continue to grow in the space and deepen our market penetration.”
