Hyderabad gets RedFM's retro Magic

MUMBAI: It’s hoping to create some magic in the city of pearls and nizams. Chennai-based Sun TV group owned RED FM’s retro music station Magic FM went live in Hyderabad today. The first retro station, it follows in the footsteps of Magic FM’s re-launch from its earlier Redtro avatar in Mumbai.

“Magic FM 106.4 was launched in Hyderabad as its denizens revel in both modern as well as music of an era gone by – that is of the eighties and nineties,” says RED FM / Suryan FM COO B. Surendar.

The team is abstaining from replicating its Mumbai station programming lineup for its Hyderabad initiative. The idea is to use some of the shows from Mumbai while adding in the zing by playing out Hyderabad's local favourites. “Though it is a fully fledged retro station, it promises to follow the tagline Vintoo Maimarachipodaam and capture the magical moments of people in their everyday lives,” he further adds.

More localisation is also expected with local RJs jawing and talking with celebs from MagicFM’s studios to keep listeners engaged.

Hopefully, these and other tricks will do the magic for Magic FM.
