Maharashtra State Commission initiates radio channel for farmers

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra State Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices is aiming to set up the station by year-end where an expert panel will be discussing farming issues related to climate change.

Climate issues faced by farmers needed to be resolved and here’s an unfold by the Maharashtra State Commission.

They are taking an initiative to resolve this problem by starting a radio channel that will help farmers remain updated and informed about the climate change.

Pasha Patel chairman of Maharashtra State Commision told a leading portal, “Issues will be handled and taken care of by the resourced person on the radio channel and permissions have been taken to start the channel by this year-end. Radio station will be based at Lodaga village in Latur district.”

A lot of climatic changes were noticed in the past few months. Heavy rainfall was seen in the regions of Satara and Sangli, due to the post rainfall crops were damaged in Marathwada region.

A committee of five to six members will be formed including experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s state agriculture department and private companies working in the field of agriculture and technology, who will help and address the issues of cultivators.
