'The budget, while good for the common man, has nothing phenomenal for the radio industry'- Tarun Katial

Speaking on the budget, Big FM COO Tarun Katial said "The budget, while good for the common man has nothing phenomenal for the media industry in general or the radio industry in particular. The service tax needed to reduce¦ especially since the radio industry is at its infancy and has great employment and media opportunities in the semi-urban and rural markets.

The budget offers great impetus to the agricultural sector, which will boost demand at the bottom of the pyramid. This will fuel overall growth of the economy and our business too, given that our network spreads across the length and the breadth of the country and reaches over 50,000 villages in India.

No increase in Corporate Tax is also a welcome.
Although the budget has not met the expectations of Corporate Inc. on the desired reforms, it is definitely kudos to the Finance Minister, providing a budget which is Life Banao for the For the People."
