Red FM dominates Radio awards, Big FM and Radio Mirchi also bag awards

NEW DELHI: Red FM dominated the Radio Awards for Excellence by bagging 12 awards. Coming in second was RBNL's Big FM, which received nine awards, while ENIL's Radio Mirchi was a close third with eight at the ceremony held at the conclusion of the India Radio Forum on 30 May 2014.

The award for the Best Station went to Red FM Mumbai, while its Ahmedabad office received an award for excellence in new media initiative for the 'Ads Gino Sona Jeeto with Whatsapp'.

Zenith Optimedia received the 'Best Use of Music/Song/Jingle' by an Advertiser in a Radio Spot for 'Nescafe Mornings on Red FM'. Meanwhile Mindshare won awards for 'Most Effective Use of Radio' in an Activation Campaign with 'Close Up Come Fall In Love - Valentines Day Activity' and 'Most Outstanding Use of Radio in an Ad Campaign for 'India's Favourite Non-Sporting Game' (Antakshari).

Reliance Life Insurance Co. Ltd was presented with the 'Best CSR Initiative' by an advertiser on radio with 'Greatest Fan'.

Radio City won the 'Best On Ground/Activation' by an FM Station for 'Radio City Freedom Awards', and Red FM Delhi won the 'Best Media Campaign' for 'Crime Ki Keh Ke Lenge Season 2'.

he 'Best Creative Campaign' award went to Radio Mango for 'Nutral', while Mumbai's Red FM got the 'Best Interactive Idea' for 'Pothole Utsav'.

Radio Mirchi won awards for 'Best Radio Programme/Show Packaging' for 'Radio Movie Illayaraja' and the 'Community Service Award' for 'Audio Books for the Visually Challenged'.

A total of 45 awards were given away, including one for 'Best Radio Pitch' contest held during the day, which went to Zenith Optimedia for 'Nescafe Mornings on Red FM'.
