TVTN files second writ petition for sale of Oye FM to ENIL

MUMBAI: After the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) denied sales of Oye FM to ENIL (Entertainment Network India Limited), TV Today Network Ltd (TVTN), which is the parent company of Oye FM, has filed yet another urgent writ petition in the High Court. The company has informed the BSE about the petition.

TVTN informed the BSE that the Committee of senior officials noted “that in relation to the proposed sale of seven radio stations to Entertainment Network (India) Limited, since time is of essence and with MIB refusing to give its consent on the aforesaid subject vide their letter dated 01 May, 2015, hence in order to expedite the matter, another urgent writ petition in the High Court was filed which was listed for hearing, to seek necessary relief.”

This petition was filed after MIB failed to give a nod on the sale of the Oye’s seven stations to ENIL.

TVTN first approached the High Court in April 2015 for a speedy decision. However, MIB denied the proposal on the grounds that the sale did not conform with the FM Radio Guidelines.
