Big FM flexes muscles in Bangalore, Kolkata

MUMBAI:  Big FM consolidated its lead position in Bangalore substantially and narrowed the gap between itself and leader Mirchi in Kolkata in week 20.While the other stations continued their status quo with minor aberrations, Big FM upped its market share in the tightly competitive Mumbai market as well.

Bangalore: Big FM gained 0.3 percentage points to end the week with a share of 19.7 per cent, leaving Mirchi behind at second spot, with a share of 17.4 per cent of the market. Fever climbed 0.1 percentage points to end with a share of 15.2 per cent, while Radio City behind it stayed at the same level with a share of 12.3 per cent.

Delhi: In the capital, leader Mirchi lost 0.4 points and ended the week with a share of 24.5 per cent, while Fever held fast at second spot with a share of 18.7 per cent. AIR FM Gold which climbed 0.4 points during the week, took home a share of 17.9 per cent, far ahead of Red FM that retained the previous week's share of 9.7 per cent.

Kolkata: Mirchi lost 0.4 points in Kolkata as well, ending the week with a share of 20 per cent, allowing Big FM to come closer. Big climbed 0.6 points, ending the week with a share of 17.7 per cent, far ahead of the third in line - Friends FM which lost 0.2 points and took home a share of 11.7 per cent. Aamar that came in next had a a share of 10.8 per cent. Red FM with a share of 8.2 per cent and Fever with a share of eight per cent, came in next.

Mumbai: In the keenly contested Mumbai market, Mirchi climbed 0.2 percentage points to end with a share of 17.3 per cent and stayed ahead of the lot. Red FM that followed with a share of 14.3 per cent, climbed 0.1 points during the week. Radio City lost 0.1 points and walked home with 13 per cent of the market, followed by Big FM that climbed 0.2 points and took home a share of 11.8 per cent.
