Mirchi inches closer to top spot in Bangalore

MUMBAI: While Mirchi continues to rule in three metros, in week 45 the station tried to narrow the margin between itself and Big FM which has been reigning in Bangalore for several weeks now.Fever too continued its steady albeit slow march upwards in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai.

Bangalore: Leader Big FM lost 0.1 percentage points to end the week with a share of 19.3, barely managing to stay above Mirchi which gained one point to end the week with a market share of 19  per cent. Fever came in a poor third with a share of 15 per cent, having lost 0.1 points during the week. AIR Rainbow was in fourth with a share of 11.3 per cent, having gained 1.2 points and Radio City followed close behind with a share of 11.1 per cent. The revamp is still not doing too much to held SFM / Red FM, which contended with a share of 8.3 per cent, having slipped 0.4 points during the week.

Delhi: Leader Mirchi kept its distance from the rivals in the capital this week with a share of 23.5 per cent, despite having lost 0.4 percentage points. Fever came in second with a share of 18.8 per cent, having lost 0.4 points, and the third spot was taken by AIR FM Gold which lost 0.2 points but managed a share of 16.4 per cent. Red FM came in fourth with a share of 9.3 per cent, a gain of 0.1 points during the week. Radio City gained 0.5 points, to end the week with a share of 8.1 per cent and Big FM ended the week with a share of 7.7 per cent. Radio One followed close behind with a share of 7.2 per cent.

Kolkata: Mirchi climbed 0.2 points to end the week with a share of 20.6 per cent, while Big FM climbed 0.6 points to end with a share of 17.3 per cent. Friends FM lost 1.1 percentage points to end with a share of 13.8 per cent and Aamar FM stayed on course with a continuing share of 10.4 per cent  Red FM and Fever both contended with a share of 7.4 per cent.

Mumbai: While Mirchi kept up its lead in the commercial capital with a share of 18.4 per cent, having lost 0.8 points during the week, Red FM barely held on to second position with a share of 14 per cent, as Radio City climbed 1.1 points to end with a share of 13.7 per cent. Both stations had AIR FM Gold snapping at their heels with a share of 12.5 per cent, even as Fever inched closer with a shre of 12.2 per cent, and Big FM rose 0.3 percentage points to end with a share of 11.4 per cent.
