RAM: Battle hots up in B'lore, Kolkata

MUMBAI: The battle for the top spots is rising with the rising mercury in Kolkata as well as Bangalore. All the top gainers in both cities registered increased market shares in week 18, according to RAM data.

Bangalore: Toppers Big FM and Mirchi were the biggest gainers, gaining 0.3 points each, ending the week with shares of 19.5 and 17.6 per cent respectively. Fever upped 0.2 points, ending the week with a share of 15.5 per cent, while Radio City ended with a share of 12.3 per cent, up 0.1 points from the previous week. Red FM too managed to climb 0.2 points to end the week with a respectable 8.4 per cent of the market.

Delhi: In the capital, the top three stations maintained status quo, with Mirchi and Fever maintaining their shares at 24.8 per cent and 18.6 per cent respectively, while AIR FM Gold slipped 0.4 points, but retained third spot at 17.4 per cent of the market. The next three inched up; Red FM climbing 0.2 points to end with a share of 9.8 per cent, Radio City climbing 0.3 points for a share of 8.4 per cent and Big FM climbing 0.1 points to end with a share of 6.9 per cent.

Kolkata: Radio Mirchi consolidated its top position by climbing 0.1 points and ending with a share of 20.7 per cent, while the next three maintained their positions - Big FM at 17.3 per cent, Friends FM at 11.8 per cent and Aamar at 10.8 per cent. Both Red FM and Fever climbed 0.1 points each, to end with shares of 8.2 and 7.5 per cent respectively.

Mumbai: Mirchi slipped 0.1 percentage points this week to end with a share of 17.1 per cent, while Radio City climbed 0.1 points to inch closer to Red FM which stayed steady at 14.1 per cent.  Big FM was close behind, with a share of 11.6 per cent. Fever too climbed 0.1 points to end with a share of 11.1 per cent.
