HTC unveils android phone 'Explorer' in India

MUMBAI: HTC has extended its growing line of smart phones with a relatively low-priced smartphone �HTC Explorer.'

The android 2.3 gingerbread OS handset is embedded with HTC Sense user interface (UI), 3.2inch TFT capacitive touch screen (320?—480 pixel resolution), GPS antenna, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, FM radio and is powered by 600MHz Scorpion CPU along with 512MB of RAM, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset and 32GB expandable microSD card.

The handset is enhanced with special lock screen  feature, which allows users to access phone contacts, e-mails, camera and messages even when the keypad is locked. HTC Explorer also features 3MP autofocus camera, front facing camera, video recorder, 1,230mAh battery, enables 7.5 hours of talk time and 485 hours of stand-by time. The company also claims that HTC Explorer will offer an intuitive home screen design that will focus on the most frequently used features.

HTC Explorer is priced at Rs 12,000.
