MUMBAI: Tapping the market for cheap dual SIM handsets, Nokia has announced the launch of four handsets in the C series. C1-00 and C2-00 can support two SIMs, while the other two, C1-01 and C1-02, are single-SIM devices.

The Nokia C1 trio (C1-00) is the first Nokia mobile phone to feature a 2-in-1 double SIM solution. This phone can take in two SIM cards but only one would be active at any given point of time. Users can switch from one SIM to another with the flick of a switch.

The C1 offers users a standby battery time of up to six weeks and offers flashlight. The entire C1 range comes with color displays, FM Radio and a standard headphone jack. The handset is priced at EUR 30.

The C2-00 supports micro-SD cards of up to 32GB and comes equipped with Nokia's Ovi Life Tools and Ovi Mail. Both the devices have their own individual design and composition in exciting colours. Other characteristics for Nokia C1-01 and C1-02 are their bright colour screens, web browsing over GPRS and access to Nokia web services such as Nokia Messaging and a built-in VGA camera enabling to capture photographs as well as video. Nokia C1-02 is expected to be priced at EUR 35 and Nokia C1-01 at EUR 39.

The Nokia C2 would be brought to the market as a dual-SIM mobile device with dual standby capability. The handset also offers the capability to keep both the SIM cards active for receiving and sending messages and calls from either number. The handset will also bring along a wide range of information covering healthcare, agriculture, education and entertainment via Nokia's Ovi Life Tools, as well as the email account for the developing world, Ovi Mail. In addition to Ovi Mail, people's favorite consumer email and chat accounts can be pushed direct to the phone via Nokia Messaging. The handset also features an FM radio and music player, with a massive amount of music storage with the phone supporting micro-SD cards of up to 32GB.

The handset is expected to be available at a price of EUR 45.
